Muslims leery after violent attack

Last updated Feb 13 2006 02:31 PM EST CBC News
As a Montreal man recovers in hospital from what he
calls a hate crime, other Muslims are being warned that
they, too, can become targets if they are not careful.
The imam was attacked outside a metro station late
last week. Many in the community say this is not an
isolated incident and they're taking measures to
protect themselves.
A suspect has been charged with assault and
possession of a weapon.

Respect is a 2 way street.

The protest is a negative thing in Canada.
It would have been better for everyone involved to
let the fire die out

Police say no evidence Imam
attack was hate crime

attack on an imam could be a random act of violence,
despite outraged calls from members of the Muslim
community who have labelled the alleged assault a
hate crime.
"Nothing makes us believe that this is a hate crime,
so it could possibly be a random act," police officer
Anie Lemieux told CTV Montreal on Monday.
