"A powerful earthquake hit Pakistan, toppling 10-story buildings
and injuring dozens of people in Islamabad, Pakistan's capital.
The quake, which registered 7.6 on the richter scale, was
centered 58 miles north-northeast of Islamabad at a depth of
about six miles. Outlaying villages which were difficult to reach
may have been flattened. At least a dozen military helicopters
were being deployed to remote areas hit by the quake to rescue
the wounded.
