Domestic Abuse does not take Holidays!

The holiday season is here
again and families are putting
their best face forward.
Victims of family violence
will be looking for that
unreachable peace and joy that has been denied
them for so long.
Stress, financial limits, family estrangement and
distance, behaviors, substance abuse, and unrealistic
expectations are some contributing factors to family
violence occurring during the holiday season.
Domestic violence flourishes and feeds on itself,
often carrying into the next generation.
Its a Family legacy of violence against the ones
you love.
Domestic violence is less likely to be reported
over the holidays as the victims pray to pull through
the holiday without any or more incidents.
The holidays are a season for family gatherings
and memory making.
No one can or should live in isolation or fear because
of abuse.
We need to be conscious of stressors, triggers, and
potentially harmful situations which appear over
the holiday seasons.
Remember that police officers don’t need to
witness a domestic assault or offense and
don’t need a warrant to arrest.
Acts of violence should be reported to law
enforcement immediately by calling 911
If you’ve been injured, seek medical attention
and report incidents to police.

MAKE THIS SEASON A WARM MEMORY
Save yourself and your family from
anymore of this!
