Observer ReporterSaturday, February 11, 2006
Their homeland is currently embroiled in controversy
over a number of cartoons, but the members of
Danish jazz band, the Tommy Hoeg Quartet featuring
Sinne Eeg, have their thoughts on more pleasant matters.
The group wraps a mini tour of the island tonight at
D'Roof on Knutsford Boulevard beginning at 8:00pm.
They also perofrmed at the Jamaica School of Music
auditorium and the Polo Lounge of the Jamaica Pegasus.
The Hoeg Quartet is guitarist Tommy Hoeg,
bassist Adam Melbye, drummer Casper Mikkelson
and pianist/keyboardist Lars Madsen.
Sinne Eeg, the feaured vocalist on the tour, has
performed with the band on several occasions, as
well as on her own shows in Denmark and overseas.
The group spent just over two weeks in the island.
Response to their music and performances has been
enthusiastic to the point that there is already talk of
having them return later in the year.
