Jane Creba to be remembered

Jane Creba, the teen killed after a Boxing Day
shootout between 15 youths on Yonge street is being
remembered by school and friends at a memorial
service on Friday.
People are expected to share memories of the athlete
and top student at Riverdale Collegiate Institute.
The Alleged Boxing day shooter wants his trial soon.

21-year-old Andre Thompson, who is charged with
numerous gun-related offences, has agreed to remain
behind bars.
His Defence lawyer says his client has waived his right

to a bail hearing in order to speed up his trial date and
put the ordeal behind him as quickly as possible.
How fortunately that he is able to put this
behind him while the parents of the teen
will have to live with her loss for a lifetime.
Thompson and a unidentified 17-year-old youth were

arrested at a subway station shortly after the gun
battle that killed 15-year-old Jane Creba.
Neither is charged in the teen's death.
Thompson returns to court February 3rd to set a

date for his trial.
We have heard changes in the law are coming for
gun offences. This matter unfortunately will not
be included as it occured before the laws are able
to be introduced. SAD
