Where Are Our Women Heading?

MONROVIA, November 24
– Ellen Johnson Sirleaf,
Liberia's 23rd President
has made history by becoming
Africa's first female President.

She hopes her election will serve to
inspire women everywhere, especially in Liberia,
to become active in civil and political affairs.
“We have shattered the glass ceiling theory,”

she declared.
“And I hope women will seize the moment to
become active in civil and political affairs here
at home and abroad.”
