Underage girl claims Glitter paid for sex

TWO girls, one aged 12, the other 18 have accused the
1970s British pop star Gary Glitter of having sex with them
at his home.
Glitter, 61, was detained by immigration officials on
Saturday at the international airport in Ho Chi Minh City
while trying to board a flight for Bangkok.
He remains in custody although not yet charged with
any crime. Police adding they would be questioning him
further.
A British consulate official said Glitter was given
access to consular assistance on Sunday and was
seeking a lawyer.
There were conflicting reports the second girl had
not yet turned 18.
In Vietnam, "obscene acts with a child" can bring up to
12 years in prison while child rape carries the maximum
penalty of death by firing squad.
