Rape- Are Women/Children to Blame?
The raping of women and children seems
to be becoming more and more common,
even though it is estimated that a majority
of rapes, sexual assaults and incidences of
sexual abuse go unreported.
Rape often occurs between people who know
each other, making it hard for the person to
prove that it happened or afraid to come
forward.
Rape is a lot of things- forcing, pressuring,
persuading, deceiving, or intimidating a person
into a sexual act - not taking "no" for an
answer.
Rape is an abuse of power, a despicable deceit,
an act of violence, a violation of trust.
The worst type is when it’s a parent who has
violated your trust.
Many victims spend their life not know why
they were picked on.
They spend years in counseling trying to right
a wrong committed against them.
Many rape victims do not dress in any sexually
or revealing way and some are eighty years old
and bedridden. Some are defenseless babies as
young as 1 month.
How could these individuals, be singled out to
be blamed?
Isn’t the horror of rape enough?

I hope for a time to come when we can all walk
the streets without fear of the unknown and to
be able to come and go as we please.
A time when children can, once again be children.
We can make that happen by standing
up against this crime!!!!
