Not enough has been done to honor our
Native Indians in Canada and America.
We have a set of people who have been ignored
and condemn to separatism from our societies
in order to benefit from government grants to
improve their lands.
The raiding of their cultural ruins and artifacts
continues today.
We have stolen their culture by naming our
teams and clubs with Indian terminology.
If all this is priceless shouldn’t the people be
too?
Yet we do not accept them as an active
member of society.
WHY?
These people are subject to racism and
stereotyping,
Teachings in our schools today can help to
eradicate this crime against natives.
They deserve the right to protection as strong
and forcefully as given to our immigrants and
natural Canadian citizens.
These people can be successful people in
their own right if encouraged to grow.
We need to bridge the gap forced between
them and us.
We need to promote education and
scholarships for these Canadians and
American citizens.
Ensure they have proper housing and water.
Ignorance is reduced by education.
I have met business owners and have friends of
native background that are ashamed of their
glorious history.
The shame is not in their history, the shame
is in the way they have been forced to live.
Are we condoning the abuse and alcoholism
these people use to block their pain?
November is Native American Heritage Month.
I will write more on this subject in November.
Our native Indians produce pottery, jewelry
and art.
We must support our native Indians.
****Check out their stalls in downtown Toronto
near the Eaton Center.
If anyone has any native businesses in their
hometown post here to advertise them
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
