"Canada's manufacturing sector continued to bear the brunt of the
economy's job losses last month as the automotive industry scaled
back production in response to feeble consumer demand.
In manufacturing, 101,000 net positions evaporated in January, the
largest monthly decline on record for the sector, according to
Statistics Canada. About 36,000 of those positions were in Ontario,
where a slew of recent layoff announcements started to take effect.
"We'd all heard the very negative news over what was happening in
the auto sector and the rest of manufacturing, and the jobs data are
catching up with that reality," said Avery Shenfeld, a senior economist
at CIBC World Markets."
Its amazing how they have forgotten how many desk jobs
and customer care positions have also dissapeared as the jobs
move over to Japan and India
BY THE SAME COMAPNIES THAT ARE NOW GETTING TAX BENEFITS.
The rest of us still are forced to buy the products from these companies
Bell Canada- has their prices come down for canadians?
Air Canada- hahahha I would not even ask?

Zarina, I would love to buy things from Canada. Where are some links from places so I can go and look at the products. I sell on ebay and I would love to add things MADE IN CANADA to my list of things I sell. Let me know.

Buy the way..want to know why so many companies in Canada and the USA are lsoing so mnay jobs ? UNIONS HAVE TAKEN OVER AND COMPANIES CANNOT SURVIVE because of the demands of the UNION (CRIME BOSSES=Mafia)
Companies cannot make a profit and keep going because of them.
UNIONS SUX. Unions are bad for all.
If given the chance a company will do the right thing and will pay people right, give them healthcare and treat them right without a damn sorry ass union telling them what to do.
