On the 5th of Jan my stepdad Manuel Montross Nunez was buried.
He passed away the 27th of Dec after 10 years of cancer which was
deemed terminal last summer.
He chose the morphine patch so he could spend more time with his family,
in a better state. He had more good than bad days and was a very strong
individual who enjoyed poetry.
I stood in church wondering how we would have felt with no body to bury.
No reason or proof of death.
It was extreamly calming to hear the priest talk of his life after spending
a few hours with him administering last rites just a day before he died
in such a respectful and charming way.
My stepsister Natalee did a remarkable opening speech and left us with
tears in our eyes as she recited his favourite poem "In Flanders Fields ".

My mother is still not accepting he is gone and leaving her
in Jamaica was one of the hardest things I had to do.
My mother is like Natalee Holloway's mum and if anything had happened
to any of us she would have not left one stone unturned.
My stepsister and stepbrother in law and her sister and nephews are near
but I am here in Canada.
Beth I am sorry for your loss and live for the day that the real proof
of what happened is revealed no matter how terrifying
and that the persons of interests are caught and you can finally bury
your precious daughter.
