Robert Hornbeck missing..

LAPEER -- Twenty-three-year-old Army Specialist
Robert Hornbeck hasn't been seen since
Saturday, April 15th.
He disappeared in Savannah, Georgia, following a
night of celebration.
Hornbeck had about 15 days left in the Army.
He had just returned from Iraq in January.
He was celebrating with a buddy, Jeremy Stone, at
a Savannah pool hall.
Hornbeck's father, Eric Hornbeck, and his
stepmother were visiting from Lapeer and were
with Rob at the pool hall.
The four were together until about midnight.
That's when Eric and his wife went home.
Three hours later, Eric Hornbeck got a call from
Jeremy Stone.
Stone said the two had too much to drink and
couldn't drive home from the Hilton Hotel.
By the time Eric Hornbeck got there, Rob was
no where to be found.
Stone said the two got separated and he wasn't
sure where Rob was.
Eric Hornbeck then called his son. "He answered
the phone and I said 'where are you at
Robert?' and he mumbled something on some
stairs and it went dead; that's the last I heard
from him."
That was the last anyone heard from him.
Savannah Police say that Rob's cell phone, credit
card, and vehicle haven't been used since that
Saturday.
Rob's mom, Tami Erickson, says she's used to
waiting for news, but this is different.
"I thought a year with him in Iraq was tough.
There are no words to describe. It's panic, it's
despair, it's total fear."
Rob's fiance, Mandy, who also lives in the Lapeer
area, left for Savannah this week to try and find Rob.
The two were supposed to marry in July.
Rob is a 2001 Lapeer East graduate.
