Date Rape drug information...

The trend of slipping drugs unsuspectingly into victims's drinks
at bars, clubs and parties for the purpose of sexually
assaulting them is on the rise.
Left in a helpless or unconscious state, the victims can't escape,
resist, or call for help.
It is also not unusual for teens and college students to mix these
drugs purposefully with alcohol to get a faster and better "high".
This can be a very deadly combination.
DON'T mix these or any drugs with alcohol!
Rohypnol (pronounced row-hip-nol) is a strong sedative which
is similar to the drug Valium, but is 10 times stronger than Valium.
The pill is similar in shape, size and color to aspirin.
Rohypnol is a small white tablet that is single or cross-scored
on one side and has the word "Roche" on the other side.
It also has a circled numeral 1 or 2 on it.
Drug street names change all the time, but it is often known
as- "roofies", "rophies", "roche", "rope", "R2", and "Trip-and-Fall".
Rohypnol dissolves easily in juice, coffee, carbonated and
alcoholic beverages. It is colorless, odorless, and tasteless when
dissolved in any liquid.
The effects of this drug are enhanced when mixed with alcohol --
causing sedation, loss of a inhibitions, relaxation, blackouts and
amnesia. It can also cause respiratory depression, coma and
even death.
The drug takes effect after about 20 to 30 minutes and effects may
last as long as 8 to 12 hours.
When combined with alcohol, Rohypnol causes severe disorientation
and the classic "blackouts" that it is known for.
Blackout periods are typically 8 to 12 hours long. The victim may or
may not appear "awake" during this time. This drug is especially
dangerous because it is so inexpensive. One tablet can cost anywhere
from $1 to $5 U.S. dollars. The drug's amnesiac effects usually leaves
the victim with little or no memory of any assault.

Signs And Symptoms of Use

Rohypnol can cause quick intoxication, bloodshot eyes,
drowsiness, dizziness, disorientation, impaired judgment,
memory loss, simultaneous hot and cold flashes, nausea,
and difficulty in speaking and moving.
You May Have Been Drugged If...
You feel a lot more intoxicated than your usual response to the
amount of alcohol you consumed. Or you feel intoxicated and
you had NO alcohol, but did drink something.
You wake up feeling confused, experiencing memory lapse
and cannot account for a period of time. You wake up in a
hotel room or stranger's apartment or home.
You took a drink but can't remember what happened to you
after you drank it. You feel that someone had sex with you,
but you can't remember any or all of the incident.

If It Happens To You...

Tell someone you trust.

Get medical attention as soon as possible.

Try to collect a urine sample in a clean container during
the first 24 hours after the assault.
(This may be your only evidence linking linking the
drug to the crime -- as the drug will show up in your
urine.)

Don't destroy any of the evidence by showering or
washing.

Report the incident to the police, your local rape crisis
center, or the hospital emergency department.

Talk to a counselor for support. Your emotional and
physical health is important.

Believe in yourself. No one invites, causes or deserves
to be sexually assaulted.
What happened to you is a criminal offense.
You are not to blame!

Don't Be A Victim

Do not accept open drinks at parties, especially from strangers.
This also includes any soft drink.
If you're drinking from a bottle or can, open it yourself.
Never leave your drink unattended.
If you ask someone to watch it, make sure it is someone
you trust.
Never go out to a bar, party or social event alone.
Go with a trustworthy friend.
Don't drink anything that has an unusual taste, or
appearance (salty taste, has excessive foam, or residue).
Never mix drugs and alcohol.

There is good news about Rohypnol. Its manufacturer recently
changed the drug to make it more detectable.
When put into a light-colored drink, new Rohypnol will now turn
the beverage bright blue!
Consumers of dark colored beverages (like Coca-Cola) should
notice a cloudy appearance. The drug will also dissolve more
slowly and form chunky pieces in your drink. Keep in mind,
however, that it may take some time for this new Rohypnol to
hit the streets.

Official says-Aruban police mum on connection
between arrest and missing U.S. teen

ORANJESTAD, Aruba - Authorities have made an arrest in
the case of a young Alabama woman who disappeared
while vacationing in Aruba, an Aruban official said Saturday.
The arrest is connected with the disappearance of
Natalee Holloway, according to a source who spoke with
MSNBC TV.
The person arrested is believed to be an acquaintance of
Dutch national Joran van der Sloot and Surinamese brothers
Deepak and Satish Kalpoe, who were seen leaving an
Aruban bar with the 18-year-old American the night she
disappeared, the source said.
Mariaine Croes, a spokeswoman for the public
prosecutor’s office, said Aruban authorities were not prepared
to disclose why the person was arrested.
Croes also would not say how the arrest was linked to the
disappearance of Holloway nearly a year ago, on the final
night of her high school graduation trip to the
Dutch Caribbean island.
Croes would only say that the person who was arrested is
19 and has the initials “G.V.C.”
In Aruba, when an arrest is announced, officials usually
release only a suspect’s initials and not a full name.
Holloway, an honors student from Mountain Brook, Ala., was
last seen on May 30, 2005, leaving a bar with van der Sloot
and the Kalpoe brothers.
The young men were arrested in June but were released
after a court ruled there was not enough evidence to
hold them.
There have been a number of false leads in the
investigation, and at least three other people were
detained without being charged in the case.
In recent weeks, Aruban police have searched sand dunes
on the northern coast of the island.
Dutch Marines, the FBI and hundreds of volunteers have
previously searched for Holloway.

Tonight I joint my family for a light meal of fish and we
spent time together for the first time in 3 months.
Tomorrow My grandson's funeral
We will be attending Mass and a gathering of family

we did need this time together.

Dutch police receive 60 tips in Holloway TV program

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands (AP) — Dutch police said Wednesday
they have received 60 tips in the disappearance of Alabama
teenager Natalee Holloway after a television program appealing
for help from the public aired throughout the kingdom of the
Netherlands.
Tips came from both the Netherlands and Aruba, the
semi-autonomous Dutch Caribbean island where Holloway
disappeared in May 2005, said Dutch police spokeswoman
Mieke Kort.

What about the people Joran claims saw him and Natalee
on the beach? Why ask for them huh. They never existed.

Motion filed to prevent civil trial from going to Aruba..

"The parents of Natalee Holloway, the Alabama
teen who vanished during a high school
graduation trip to Aruba, say they oppose moving
their civil trial from New York to the Caribbean island
because witnesses are too terrified to testify there. "

I truly think no justice will come from Aruba.
ThisIsland has yet to show they are truthful and
committed to solving this case.
How could such a small Island lose so many people?

Tacopina also has said in court papers that it would
be unduly burdensome for Paulus van der Sloot to
travel from Aruba, where he lives, and for Joran to
travel from Holland, where he is in school.

The parents' court papers, filed late Tuesday, say at

least six important witnesses live in New York

and others live in Princeton, N.J., and Philadelphia.
They also say a young woman who claims to be a
former Joran van der Sloot victim says she would
testify in New York but not in Aruba.
The parents' papers say this young woman can
identify two others who had experiences with the
younger van der Sloot "in circumstances eerily
reminiscent of what happened to Natalee."

This Island's tactic is to harass witnesses...
Can you blame them.
Not one witness has been deemed credible except
the supposed brother in law of "Dinbin"
Then they get deported or dissappear.
We have not heard anything regarding the 2 black
men originally arrested in Aruba...

Commissioner Gerold Dompig remains as the
person in charge of the investigation of the case
of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.
This was declared yesterday morning by
Minister Rudy Croes during a press conference.
At the same time, the Minister indicated that
although h preferred for inspector Dolfi Richardson
to be the spokesperson for this case, Richardson
himself asked for Dompig to remain the
spokesperson, due to his knowledge of the case.
As such, Dompig was re-appointed as
spokesperson for this case.

Deepak Kalpoe’s car will not be returned to
him until Monday.
The examining-magistrate decided in a
lawsuit instituted by Kalpoe’s lawyer David Kock
that the confiscation is not illegal, because the
shootings for Opsporing Verzocht are of
relevance to the investigation on the disappeared
Natalee Holloway.
The car, a grey Honda Civic was confiscated by the
Public Prosecutor last Thursday afternoon.
Their motivation to do this is that the program
must reproduce the situation as real as possible.
The program Opsporing Verzocht with the

Explosion rocks a Toronto Tim Hortons, kills one

A man is dead and one of Toronto's busiest downtown
intersections is closed after an explosion ripped
through a Tim Hortons coffee shop Sunday afternoon.
The blast occurred in the washroom of the coffee shop,
located near the intersection of Yonge and
Bloor Streets, just after 1 p.m.

Few details were immediately available, but police
confirmed an emergency task force unit had been
dispatched to the second location and the area had
been evacuated.

HIGHWAY OF TEARS DRAW ATTENTION...

Finally after years of misery Police, politicians
and aboriginals gather to share concerns
about the 'highway of tears'.

Nine women -- eight of them aboriginal -- have
been slain or have gone missing since 1990
from communities that dot the largely remote
Highway 16 corridor that stretches almost
750 kilometres between Prince George and
Prince Rupert.

Police have made no arrests in the cases.
They say they are considering the possibility
that a serial killer is on the loose but need
more evidence.
"Justice is what I want," said Audrey Auger,
whose daughter Aielah was the most recent
known victim.At 14, Aielah Saric-Auger was
also the youngest of the known victims.
Her body was found in February near the
highway outside of Prince George.
