Girls' school torched

Girls' school torched in Afghanistan
Last Updated Sun,

CBC News
A girls' school has been burned down
in Afghanistan, a country where
human rights abuses remain a concern
four years after the removal of the
fundamentalist Taliban government.

No one was hurt, but the fire
destroyed the building, chairs,
a vehicle and tents that were
temporarily being used by
the students.
The primary school, 65

kilometres from Kabul in
Logar province, was being
renovated when someone
set fire to it late Saturday,
said provincial official
Qudratullah Arabzai.
The school was the fourth to

be burned in the same district
since the collapse of the
hardline Taliban regime in
late 2001.
A string of similar incidents

has been blamed on loyalists
of the Taliban, which had
banned education for
women and girls.

These are our future mothers and wifes, trying
to educate themselves to better provide for
their families.
What a bunch of cowards the men of this
religion represent. Attacking girl children.
Should we give up?
HELL NO!

ABUSE in another form!

Unacceptable words from Iran
It is difficult to say which is worse

about Iran right now.
The disturbing and unacceptable
statement by new populist
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

that Israel should be
``wiped off the map''
deserves strong rejection and
condemnation from every civilised country
and leader.
At the same time, however, Teheran
under its new regime seems determined
to isolate itself. The government is jerking
back even the small steps of tolerance
recently gained by Iranians, while
simultaneously embarking on a foreign
policy certain to raise tensions at a time
the world suspects Iran is building
nuclear weapons.
The weekend statement by the Iranian
Foreign Ministry that the country has
no intention of attacking Israel is
welcome, but Mr Ahmadinejad must
account for his inflammatory remarks.
He was the first national leader of this
generation to use such words. Even
the most hysterical rhetoric by the
most radical leaders during the Cold
War years never proposed wiping out
a country.
Mr Ahmadinejad is a president now,
not just another rabble-rousing politician.
His statement that any country
which recognises Israel supports the
surrender of the Muslim world is
hateful, unacceptable and dangerous.
The Thai Foreign Ministry has the
duty to talk to, or even to summon
the Iranian ambassador to this country
and determine from him just what this
new Teheran policy means. Thailand is
a nation with long and rather friendly
relations with Israel, even as it supports
a homeland for the Palestinians with
peace in the entire Middle East. Does
the Iranian president consider that
Thailand is somehow an enemy to
Muslims?
Thai people have the right to know, as
do the citizens of the many countries
which recognise Israel _ many of them
strategic Muslim nations such as Egypt
and Jordan.Outrage against the call for
the extinction of Israel rose quickly
around the world because of the way
the Iranian leader linked it to other
countries. The new president must be
called to explain what he means. Iran
cannot be allowed to throw out cavalier
insinuations about, say, Thai relations
with Israel. These cover a wide
range _ diplomatic, trade and cultural
among others. If Mr Ahmadinejad
repeats or defends his remarks, Thailand
must consider its next step.
The remarks about Israel also raise
strong questions about other Iranian
policies. President Ahmadinejad,
elected largely because of a protest vote
against the establishment of political
clerics, has radical views on many
subjects. In the past couple of weeks,
his government has banned all foreign
films _ ironic, given the praise for Iranian
films in many places including Bangkok
film festivals. New and renewed censorship
policies have begun new crackdowns on
feminists, Western clothing, satellite
TVs and many other societal niches.
All of these petty attempts to return Iran
to the bad old 1980s of the Islamic revolution
are doomed to partial, if not complete,
failure. But placed against a menacing,
hardline foreign policy, these and the
call to exterminate Israel must worry
the world. No country publicly believes
Iranian statements that the country is
developing peaceful nuclear energy,
not weapons. On the United Nations
watchdog (and Nobel Peace Prize winning)
board of the International Atomic Energy
Agency, only Venezuela has voted to
support Iran for its excessive, unnecessary
and illegal secrecy. A self-isolated, bellicose
Iran with nuclear weapons is not a
pleasant image to consider. In a way,
however, Mr Ahmadinejad has done
everyone a favour by making his
government's policies so stark and
shocking. Iran's constant support for
war over peace in the Mideast has been
long overlooked. The Syrian support for
assassination in Lebanon is more crucial
because of Iranian backing for
Lebanon's extremist Hizbollah group.
The president has close ties to groups
which maintain their so-called fatwa
and death sentence on British author
Salman Rushdie. All of this, along with
harassment of progressive Iranian
citizens, is laid beside Iran's opaque
nuclear policy, bellicose Mideast
actions and, now, a call for the
annihilation of a nation and its citizens.
President Ahmadinejad should retract
his statement, admit he made a terrible
error of judgment and pledge to
cooperate with the world community
of nations.

President Ahmadinejad you have
only manage to increase my
distrust of your religion.

Pubic Drinking Ban?

BBC news report
Transport drinking ban attacked
A proposed ban on drinking
alcohol on trains and buses
is "another example of the
Labour nanny state", say the
government's political rivals.
Ministers said the move was designed
to protect people
from drunken yobs, and no decision had been made.
They and the Lib Dems said it was absurd to ban drinking

on trains and buses while letting pubs open 24 hours.
The proposed ban, which is unlikely to include flights,

is thought to have some police backing.

Church of Our Lady Re-consecrated

Thousands of people gathered in the east
German city of Dresden to see
Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady)
re-consecrated, 60 years after it
was destroyed by Allied forces.
The baroque church was reduced to
rubble when Allied bombers struck
the city in February 1945.
The city burned for a week
after the raid and at least
35,000 people died.
What remained of the crumbling
walls were left to stand by
East Germany's communist
authorities to serve as a
reminder of the
World War II damage.

The 180 million euro reconstruction
took 10 years to recreate the
church as it stood in this 1930 photo.
As crowds gathered outside for the
re-consecration ceremony, 1,800
guests from Germany and around
the world were also examining
the ornately decorated interior.
A reminder of the war and
destruction, a piece of debris
retrieved from the rubble
is displayed in the re-opened church.

The sandstone dome of the
reconstructed Frauenkirche
dominates the Dresden skyline,

WHY A CONDOM?

The Male Condom
Condoms collect semen before, during,

and after a man ejaculates ("comes").
This can keep sperm from entering the
vagina.
Of 100 women whose partners use

condoms, about 15 will become
pregnant during the first year of typical use.*
Only two women will become pregnant
with perfect use.
** More protection against pregnancy
is possible if condoms are used with
a spermicide foam, cream, jelly,
suppository, or film.
They also protect both partners during

vaginal and anal sex from sexually
transmitted infection. Latex condoms
offer very good protection against HIV.
The Female Condom
The female condom is a reversible

barrier method of birth control. It is a
polyurethane (plastic) pouch with
flexible rings at each end. It is
inserted deep into the vagina like
a diaphragm. The ring at the closed
end holds the pouch in the vagina.
The ring at the open end stays
outside the vaginal opening.
The female condom collects semen

before, during, and after ejaculation,
keeping sperm from entering the
vagina and protecting against
pregnancy.
Of 100 women who use female
condoms, 21 will become pregnant
during the first year of typical use.
Five will become pregnant with
perfect use.
The female condom also reduces

the risk of many sexually
transmitted infections, including HIV.

How to Use Condoms
Handle condoms gently.

Store them in a cool, dry place.
Long exposure to air, heat, and
light makes them more breakable.
Do not stash them continually in a
back pocket, wallet, or glove
compartment.
Lubricate the inside and outside

of the condom.
(Many condoms are pre-lubricated.)
Lubrication helps prevent rips and
tears, and it increases sensitivity.
Use water-based lubricants,
such as K-Y jelly or AstroGlide, or
silicone-based lubricants, such as
Eros, with latex condoms.
DO NOT USE:

Oil-based lubricants like petroleum
jelly, cold cream, butter, or mineral
and vegetable oils damage latex.
Using condoms reduce the risk of
other sexually transmitted infections,
including gonorrhea, syphilis,
chlamydia, chancroid, trichomoniasis,
HPV, herpes, and pelvic inflammatory
disease (PID).
Condoms can also protect against
vaginitis caused by trichomoniasis
or changes in the pH balance of the
vagina that can be triggered by
semen.
The risk of passing a sexually
transmitted infection during oral sex
is lower than it is during vaginal or
anal intercourse. People who want
to further reduce the risk can use
condoms during oral sex.

Putting On a Condom
Detailed instructions for correct

use are included in the packaging
for the condom. Be sure to read
and understand them before you
use it.
For pleasure, ease, and
effectiveness, both partners should
know how to put on and use a
condom. To learn without feeling
pressured or embarrassed, practice
on your penis or a penis-shaped
object like a ketchup bottle, banana,
cucumber, or squash.
Guidelines:
-Put the condom on before the penis
touches the vulva.
Men leak fluids from their penises
before and after ejaculation.
Pre-ejaculate ("pre-cum") can carry
enough sperm to cause pregnancy.
It can also carry enough germs to
pass sexually transmitted infections.
-Use a condom only once. Use a

fresh one for each erection
("hard-on"). Have a good supply
on hand.
-Condoms usually come rolled into

a ring shape. They are individually
sealed in aluminum foil or plastic.
-Be careful — don't tear the condom
while unwrapping it. If it is torn,
brittle, stiff, or sticky, throw it
away and use another.
-Put a drop or two of lubricant

inside the condom.
-Pull back the foreskin, unless

circumcised, before rolling on
the condom.
-Place the rolled condom over

the tip of the hard penis.
-Leave a half-inch space at the

tip to collect semen.
-Pinch the air out of the tip with

one hand while placing it on the
penis.
-Unroll the condom over the

penis with the other hand.
-Roll it all the way down to the

base of the penis.
-Smooth out any air bubbles.

(Friction against air bubbles
can cause condom breaks.)
Lubricate the outside of the

condom.

Taking Off a Condom

-Pull out before the penis

softens.
-Don't spill the semen —

hold the condom against the
base of the penis while you pull
out.
-Throw the condom away.
-Wash the penis with soap and

water before embracing again.
-If a Condom Breaks ......

during intercourse, pull out
quickly and replace it.
-Men should be able to tell if a
condom breaks during intercourse.
To learn what it feels like, men
can break condoms on purpose
while masturbating.
... and semen leaks out, wash

the semen away with soap and
water.
... and semen leaks into the

vagina during a woman's fertile
period, ask a reproductive
health clinician for information
about starting emergency
contraception within 120 hours.

Sex Play, Pleasure,
and the Condom.
Many women and men say they
have better sex when they use
condoms. They are able to focus
on their sexual pleasure without
distractions about unintended
pregnancy and sexually transmitted
infection. Some couples put the
condom on as part of their foreplay.
Many men stay hard longer
when they use condoms.
Disadvantages
Some men and women feel that

the condom dulls sensation.
Others become frustrated and lose
some of their sexual excitement
when they stop to put on a
condom. Some men are
self-conscious about using
condoms. They feel pressured
about having to maintain an
erection to keep the condom on.
Others feel pressured to ejaculate.
Many overcome these pressures
and learn to enjoy using
condoms by using them during
sex play before intercourse.
Side Effects
Condoms have no side effects

except for people who are
allergic to latex. One to two
percent of women and men
have such allergies. They may
use plastic male or female
condoms instead.
How to Get Condoms

and What They Cost
Condoms are available in

drugstores, family planning clinics,
some supermarkets, and from
vending machines. They each
cost about $0.50, or less. Female
condoms cost about $2.50.
Some family planning centers
give them away or charge very little.
The cost in clinics or when
authorized by a private doctor is
covered by Medicaid in some states.
Don't Let Embarrassment Become

a Health Risk Nearly as many women
as men buy and carry condoms. And
many people use them — every time
they have sexual intercourse.
If you are embarrassed to talk with
your partner about using condoms,
practice before you are in a sexual
situation
Guidelines for Sex Partners:
1. Have each other's consent.
2. Never use pressure to get

consent.
3. Be honest with each other.
4. Treat each other as equals.
5. Be attentive to each other's

pleasure.
6. Protect each other against

physical and emotional harm.
7. Guard against unintended

pregnancy and sexually
t
ransmitted infection.
8. Be clear with each other

about what you want to do
and don't want to do.
9. Respect each other's limits.
10.
Accept responsibility for
your actions.

SUNDAYS!

Sundays bring back vivid memories
of sitting around a large table with
cousins, aunts uncles, grandparents
and after the short grace pigging out
on Fried chicken, Roast beef with
browned potatoes and Yorkshire
pudding, stewed fish, Jamaican
rice and peas, spinach with cheese
or corn on the cob, potato salad,
freshly tossed garden salad and
homemade dressing.
A day of rest as it used to be.
There we were eighteen family

members sharing a large meal.
It was the thing to do then.
All recounting the weekly tidbits
(formulated for table gossip of
course and mindful of parents
present hehe). After dinner the
desserts of cakes, pies and
ice cream topped with nuts,
cherries and whipped cream.
Funnily enough the times are

rarer today of families sitting
down to eat regular Sunday
dinners or even the everyday
meals.
Work schedules, Hobbies and
activities keep us busy as our
parents and guardians work
more or are even in a different
part of the country or world
trying to provide for their family.

We yell about conserving energy
when 24 hours a day we are
burning energy to meet the greed
of business owners and the rich,
who today are robbing the poor
and the middle class of the
opportunity to spend time with
their family members.
Families are being torn apart
from lack of time and children
left with no guidance. Business
owners are opening their
businesses longer and more days
and the money they pay the
workers has not improved.
We lose more time with our
families so they can live
comfortable.
The joke is
A family member remarked as they

watched New Orleans stores being
robbed on Television during the
hurricane and said. “Wow the criminals
are out there doing big business,
even in times of turmoil.”
Yes and so are our Business owners,

I commented getting rich of the backs
of its workers.
If parents should be responsible for

their children’s behavior
The government, rich and business

owners have to claim some responsibility.
This is just my opinion; feel free to add
yours in the comment areas.

TOUCHING A WOMAN.

This is a story related to me by a friend:
…I happened to be at a hospital doing an

audit, and I was the only one around. This
priest walked up and put his hands on my
shoulder and asked for the chart next to me.
I was the only one around so I handed it to

him, but I was seething.
He came back and he put his hands on my

shoulder again and ask if there was anything
else he needed to do. I said yes, you need to
ask permission from me to touch my body
or any other woman's
body.
He informed me he was just a friendly person.
I said that’s your problem don’t make it mine.
Being friendly doesn’t give you a license to

touch my body. Whether you realize it or not
I own this body and I don’t want your hands
on it.
By now there is a crowd.
He was saying he was sorry and all that bullshit.
I said you aren’t sorry you actually thought in

your limited mind it was ok and that women
won’t mind you touching them.
Well I do mind and I am sure other women

mind as well!
He then said that in his job he does that as a

comfort...I said I am not sad.... I don’t need
comforting...and the patient isn’t my relative
but even if that were, it still doesn’t give you
the right touch anyone whether man women
or child...you need to get a grip.

The administrator come in to quite it down

the situation. I informed him he had touched
me without permission and that I could classify
that as sexual harassment.
We were taken to the office and as they tried

to hush me...I said why should I be quiet he
started it by doing unsolicited touching.
Where is your outrage for him for touching

me?
I wanted more to be said about that.

By then I was steaming and getting hotter when
they finally reminded him he was in the wrong.

My friend went on to say that she believed:
Women who were taught to be polite and

to be a quiet ladies and not make scenes
are the ones getting killed today.
The quiet demure sexy ones who’s body

language is easily read by men and the men
know who will fight and who wont.
The men target the women they can get
away with bullying and etc.
She said A lot MORE………

But give me your views!
How would you feel?

ROSA PARK'S VIEWING!

MONTGOMERY, Alabama (AP) --
Hundreds of people slowly filed past the body
of civil rights icon Rosa Parks on Saturday,
just miles from the downtown street where
she made history by refusing to give up her
seat on a city bus to a white man.
Most paying respects paused for a moment

to quietly look at Parks' body in an open
casket at St. Paul A.M.E. Church.

CHEATING!!!!

You're in a relationship with a wonderful person,
who may be cheating on you.
This is the concern of many partners in
relationships all over have.
Does the thought of partner with someone else
makes your skin crawl?
What would you do if it happened to you?

There are many signs that that prove your
partner may be cheating.
The most important is a change in their day to
day activities and appearances.
Now there's no need to get all paranoid and

suspicious.
If you suspect an indiscretion:

1. Do not accuse her/him of cheating.

Think! If you accuse or threaten and you're
wrong, they’ll feel that you really don't trust
them
2. Has your partner has given you a reason

to believe that they are two-timing you,
or is it your imagination running wild?
3. If you think your partner may be cheating,

ask her/him if everything is okay, because
they have been acting different lately.
4. Give your partner examples of how

her/his behavior has changed, and ask if
there is a reason.
5. Ask if there is something you should

know or tell your partner you don’t believe
they have been 100% honest with you
6. If there is no way that this is a

misunderstanding and you are positive that
your partner has been cheating then you
can approach her with more assertion.
Tell her what you saw, how it makes you
feel, and what you plan to do about it.
NO VIOLENCE PLEASE
7. Open up the lines of communication and

encourage your partner to open up and discuss
the troubling factors in your relationship and
proceed from there.
8. Use a passive way of approaching this

situation, because if you're wrong, you may
be messing up big time. But if you're right,
then you have permission to be angry.
Remember being angry does not mean
hurting your partner.
9. Being unfaithful in a relationship is destroys

the trust built up over time.
Cheating may be the result of a problem in
your relationship that you were avoiding.
This doesn't make their actions right.

If your partner has cheated, you need to

decide if you can trust your partner again.
If the answer is NO do not stay together.

If the answer is Yes- It may take time,

but you can give it another try.
You have to learn not throw the past in

their faces.
IT IS OVER an you have a new beginning.
If the cheating was something lacking in your
relationship you must be ready to work
on the problems in your relationship.

We all make mistakes and while it does

not excuse the cheater’s actions it is a human
re-action.
If your partner shows remorse for their
actions then it is worth the shot at your
relationship.

Remember its easy to forgive but
forgetting takes a whole lot of time!!!

FAMILY CLOSENESS

Keep you enemy’s close
but your families closer.

In this big world filled with stress and
pressures of all kind, It is difficult to keep
your family close to you. Love and
attention is the glue that maintains a
health bond. When families break down
and no attempt is made to revive it.
The family members lose touch with what
is important.

Men and women are built
differently hormonally, chemically, and
structurally. We see the world differently.
A woman generally views life relationally,
a man instrumentally. That is, a woman
thinks in terms of another person’s
feelings; a man thinks more in terms of
just the facts. A man can help a woman be
more objective about life.
And a woman can help a man have more
subjective feelings about life.
It’s all about sharing your feelings and
helping each other along the way.
Healthy families mentally practice putting
themselves in each other’s place.
This increases understanding and
compassion for couples and their families.
Communication and listening to each
other is another important and commodity
for today’s society. Express your
feelings and let others know how you feel.
No one can right a wrong they do
not know has occurred.

Spending time together constructively
helps to keep everyone an active member
of the family. Sharing your skills at
photography, decorating and planning
simple inexpensive outings. Playing a
simple game of monopoly counts as
solid family time. Even when separated
for time periods try a website for the
family to sign into, if only to keep up on
the news, pictures and current family
achievements.
It’s certainly cheaper than those dreaded

long distance phone calls.

Attempted Murderer wants HIS life!!!

Man fears for life after pleading guilty
to beating
Last Updated Fri,

28 Oct 2005 08:42:17 EDT
CBC News
A man who pleaded guilty to the beating
and sexual assault of a 20-year-old woman
in Banff this summer says
he doesn't expect to survive prison.
Albert George Muckle, 25, was in court

in Calgary Thursday as part of the Crown's
efforts to have him declared a dangerous
offender.

A drifter from Ontario, the heavily tattooed

Muckle said he's been placed in jail
with rival gang members and alleges
that he was beaten.
FROM JULY 12, 2005:

Police investigate attack on woman in Banff
"I'll be lucky to live through this," the
25-year-old told Court of Queen's Bench
Judge Sandra Hamilton, one of a number
of instances when he interrupted the
proceedings.
"Look at my face. I just got into a fight

this morning," he said, while pointing to
his head.
Muckle – who has refused to be

represented by a lawyer – has pleaded
guilty to attempted murder and aggravated
sexual assault in the attack, which left a
20-year-old woman in a coma.
The woman, who remains in a coma in

a care facility in Ottawa near her family,
must be fed by a tube.
She isn't expected to recover.
Police said the woman, who worked in a

hotel in Banff, was strangled and left
unconscious and partially clothed in a
park on July 11.
Crown wants delay
On Thursday, Crown prosecutor

Patricia Yelle asked for more time to sift
through boxes of documents shipped
from Ontario, where Muckle spent his
youth.
Yelle said they are also waiting for other

documents, some of which require
search warrants.
But Muckle said he would sign anything

to allow access to the documents, and
claims that he's been told by psychiatrists
in the past that the information in them
isn't enough to have him declared a
dangerous offender.
Hamilton told Muckle he needs to have

a lawyer for the dangerous offender
hearing. She said she will recommend legal
aid appoint him counsel to handle his
defence of the dangerous offender
application and to deal with his safety
concerns.
Muckle's next court appearance is in

December. He also is required to
undergo a 60-day psychiatric evaluation.

BACK TO DATING!

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"
Deciding to date is scary for both guys
and girls.
Rejection is something we face and we
must accept that it does not mean we are
unattractive or not good enough.
It basically means the other person is not
attracted to us.
Attraction does not come in looks alone
…look around you and go to a few
weddings. Ever notice how most times
…one partner stands out more than
the other?
You may even say to your self
“eek why is he marrying her”
or
“Wow she could do better than that”.
Well if everyone was attracted to the

same person we would all be in a mess.
All Relationships need the 4 C’s

… Commitment, Communication,
Compatibility and Co-operation.
Stop worrying about what others think

of you be you and go out and find your
partner. There is someone out there for
eveyone. Hiding in doors, will cause
you to miss them
Ask your date lots of questions regarding

hobbies and family. It’s the only way
to feel out if you and he have any
common links.
Don’t be afraid to take a chance cause
you would never know how it would
work out if you did not.
Each dating experience is like a
stepping-stone in life
Remember 1st dates should be

somewhere quite where you can
get to know your date.

The best relationship begins with

friendship and trust.
Places to meet potential dates are at

church, social events, fairs, parks,
beaches, parties, concerts, movies,
joining gyms, taking community
classes ie. pottery, art, photography etc

SEX that 3 letter word pops up during

dating.
Good news… women don’t have to pay
for dates by having sex with
their partners.
Isn’t that great to know.
And men that goes for you too.

Sex is a mutual agreement between
adults when the time is right.
Pressuring a partner for sex is so out.
